Kids Wrestling Sydney: What Age to Start, Why It Matters, and How to Prepare Your Child

Parents considering wrestling for a child may have questions about readiness, class format and a first visit. Children vary, so ask the club which class may suit your child.

Is a Class a Good Fit?

Consider your child’s interests and comfort with group activities and movement. Ask the coach what happens in class and how beginners take part.

Questions to Ask

  • How are partner activities introduced?
  • What clothing should my child wear?
  • What should we expect on a first visit?
  • Which class is appropriate for my child?

Wrestling at MMAC

MMAC lists Kids Wrestling and a session called “Wrestling adults + Kids.” Ask the club which class is appropriate. See kids programs or the contact page.

First Visit

Your coach will explain what to expect. The wrestling program recommends shorts without zips or pockets, a fitted t-shirt or rashguard and a water bottle; bare feet are fine for a first class. Check the live timetable. Booking is through GymMaster.

Book your trial

Your first class is free.

Book it online through GymMaster, or call and we'll book it with you.

One free trial class. It is a single free class, not a free week of training.
